My name is Frank Caron. Welcome to the home of my personal blog, portfolio and various other online toys. I am a 27 year old technical and critical writer, web designer, application developer and student based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I am currently attending the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, nearing completion on a degree in Rhetoric and Professional Writing with a minor in Computer Science.
In my days, I've managed to find myself engaged in a variety of different pursuits. Down and dirty application development, web design and writing have all, at one point or another, been a focus of my professional and personal projects. My main focus in life right now is the observation of and participation in the technology scene. From actively writing about topics within the industry to implementing different technologies for a given client, I constantly try to stay up to date with the industry and utilize the many tools available for whatever line of work I'm currently engaged in. That said, though I consider myself at the forefront of the techie world, I do have an appreciation for the finer points of life: art, literature, theater and all things aesthetic.
This site contains flog, my portfolio, my writing archive, and the obligatory contact section. Flog is my ranting zone and obligatory blog; you can't be Web 2.0 without one. If you're looking for a strict professionalism, I'd steer clear. The writing archive has a small collection of some of my written word. The portfolio section outlines my professional competencies, work history, and provides a collection of the many different types of work I have done over the course of my life. Lastly, email is always the preferred way of getting a hold of me given my frequent trips to and from school and about the country, so use the contact section to ping me. That's pretty much the jist of the site here.
I hope that these different views of me will help you to understand who I am and what I'm capable of. Feel free to look around, and if there's anything you need to know, shoot me an email: I'm always looking to converse. Besides that, I don't have too much to say; I didn't really want to have an introductory page, but I couldn't decide which section was the most appropriate to start on or who to cater to. Thus I leave it up to you, trusty reader. Surf on.
Onepager, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Twitpic, flickr, Zune, Xbox, and... FriendFeed for the jist.
